Colorado Bar Exam Format
The Colorado Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 consists of eight Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions of 30 minutes each and two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) problems. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

MPRE
A scaled score of 85 on the MPRE is required for admission within two years prior to or after filing an application to take the bar exam.
Colorado Bar Exam Scoring and Results
MBE, MEE, and MPT scores are combined to determine if the applicant has achieved the minimum passing score of 276 points out of a possible 400 points. The MBE is weighted 50% of the total score; the MEE is worth 30%; and the MPT is worth 20% of the total score. Results are released in late April for the February exam and late September for the July exam.

Colorado Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity
Colorado does not accept MBE scores from other jurisdictions.
Colorado Bar Exam Reciprocity
In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Colorado Bar Exam, the applicant must be a member of a reciprocating state bar and have engaged in the active practice of law for five of the seven years immediately preceding the application. The applicant must also be a graduate of an ABA-accredited law school.
