Connecticut Bar Exam Format
The Connecticut Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 consists of twelve essay questions, up to six of which may be selected from the Multistate Essay Exam (MEE). Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

MPRE
A scaled score of 80 on the MPRE or a grade of “C” or better in an ethics course is required for admission, either within four years prior to or one year after applying for admission.
Connecticut Bar Exam Scoring and Results
MBE and essay scores are weighted 50% each and combined to determine if the applicant has achieved the minimum passing score of 264 points out of a possible 400 points. Results are released in late April for the February exam and mid-October for the July exam.

Connecticut Bar Exam Reciprocity
In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Connecticut Bar Exam, the applicant must be a member of a reciprocating state bar and have engaged in the active practice of law for five of the seven years immediately preceding the application. The applicant must also be a graduate of an ABA-accredited law school.
