Idaho Bar Exam Format
The Idaho Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 consists of four 45-minute Idaho essay questions in the afternoon. Day 2 includes six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions and two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions. Day 3 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

MPRE
A scaled score of 85 on the MPRE prior to or within two administrations after the bar exam is required for admission.
Idaho Bar Exam Scoring and Results
The MBE is weighted 1/3, and the written score is weighted 2/3. The scores combine to determine if a passing score of 70% was achieved. Results are released in early April for the February exam and in early September for the July exam.

Idaho Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity
Applicants can transfer previous MBE scores from another jurisdiction if taken within 25 months of the date of the bar exam.
Idaho Bar Exam Reciprocity
Attorneys licensed in reciprocal states may be eligible for reciprocity in Idaho. Attorneys who have practiced five of the seven years preceding application are not required to take the MBE.
