Indiana Bar Exam Format
The Indiana Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 consists of two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions and a six question, four-hour essay exam. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

MPRE
A scaled score of 80 on the MPRE within two years prior to or after passing the Indiana Bar Exam is required for admission.
Indiana Bar Exam Scoring and Results
The MBE is weighted 50%, the essay exam is weighted 30%, and the MPT is weighted 20%. The scores are scaled and combined to determine if a passing score of 264 was achieved. Results are released 75 days after the bar exam.

Indiana Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity
Applicants can transfer MBE scores from a concurrent exam only.
Indiana Bar Exam Reciprocity
Conditional one-year licenses are granted to attorneys who have practiced five of the seven years preceding application and who intend to practice predominantly in Indiana. After the fifth consecutive renewal, admission becomes permanent.
