Maryland Bar Exam Format

The Maryland Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 consists of ten Maryland essay questions and one 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) question. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

Multistate Edge prepares you for the MBE portion of the Maryland Bar Exam.

Maryland Bar Exam Subjects: Maryland Subjects (MBE Subjects are in bold)

Agency, Commercial Transactions, Corporations, Family Law, MD Civil Procedure, Partnerships, Professional Responsibility, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts

MPRE

Maryland does not require the MPRE.

Maryland Bar Exam Scoring and Results

The MBE is weighted 1/3, the written portion is weighted 2/3, and the scores are scaled and combined to determine if a passing score of 406 out of a possible 600 points was achieved. Results are released in early May for the February exam and in early November for the July exam.

User Testimonials

I used the Multistate Edge course to study for the July Tennessee Bar Exam at the suggestion of a friend who had successfully used the course previously. The study materials more than prepared me for the exam, and I felt really comfortable by the time I sat for the exam. It is an overall great program that I would recommend for anyone who is planning on sitting for a bar exam, no matter your study preferences.
