Michigan Bar Exam Format
The Michigan Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 consists of fifteen essay questions. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

Agency, Commercial Paper, Conflict of Laws, Corporations, Creditors’ Rights, Equity, MI Rules of Professional Conduct, Domestic Relations, Insurance (No-Fault), Partnerships, Personal Property, Practice & Procedure (State & Federal), Sales, Secured Transactions, Wills & Trusts, Workers’ Compensation, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts
MPRE
A scaled score of 85 on the MPRE is required for admission.
Michigan Bar Exam Scoring and Results
The MBE and essay scores are combined and averaged to determine if a passing score of 135 was achieved. Results are released in mid-May for the February exam and in mid-November for the July exam.

Michigan Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity
Michigan allows an applicant to transfer a scaled MBE score from a reciprocal jurisdiction, if taken within three years and the applicant passed the entire bar exam of which the MBE was a part.
Michigan Bar Exam Reciprocity
In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Michigan Bar Exam, the applicant must have engaged in the active practice of law for three of the five years immediately preceding the application and be a graduate of an ABA-accredited law school.
