Mississippi Bar Exam Format
The Mississippi Bar Exam is a three-day exam. Day 1 consists of six one-hour Mississippi essay questions. Day 2 consists of two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions and six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions. Day 3 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

Administrative Law, Agency, Bankruptcy, Commercial Paper, Conflict of Laws, Corporations, Domestic Relations, Federal Income Tax, Federal Jurisdiction & Rules of Civil Procedure, MS Constitutional Law, Partnerships, Practice & Procedure of MS Courts, Professional Conduct & Ethics, Sales, Secured Transactions, U.C.C., Wills, Estates, Trusts & Future Interests, Workers’ Compensation (Prior to the exam, the Board indicates to all applicants which subjects will be tested on the portion of the exam prepared by the Board, the order, and the time), Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts
MPRE
A scaled score of 75 on the MPRE within 24 months before or 12 months after passing the bar exam is required for admission.
Mississippi Bar Exam Scoring and Results
The MBE is weighted 40%, the six state essays are weighted 30%, the MEE is weighted 15%, and the MPT is weighted 15% of the total score. Results are released in mid-April for the February exam and in mid-September for the July exam.

Mississippi Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity
Mississippi allows applicants to transfer scaled MBE scores from other jurisdictions if attained within 20 months prior to the Mississippi exam.
Mississippi Bar Exam Reciprocity
In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Mississippi Bar Exam, the applicant must have engaged in the active practice of law for at least five years and establish an office within 30 days of admission.
