Montana Bar Exam Format
The Montana Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 consists of four 60-minute Montana essay questions. Day 2 consists of Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) and Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions. Day 3 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

Montana Bar Exam Subjects: Montana/MEE Subjects (MBE Subjects are in bold)
Agency, Business Organizations, Civil Procedure, Domestic Relations, Income (Federal), Estate & Gift (Federal & State) Taxation, MT Constitutional Law, Professional Responsibility (including the Rules of Professional Responsibility and the norms of Professional Conduct), Trusts, Probate & Wills, Guardianships, Conservatorships & Estates, U.C.C. as adopted in Montana (excluding Articles 5, 7, and 8), Workers’ Compensation, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts
MPRE
A scaled score of 80 on the MPRE is required for admission.
Montana Bar Exam Scoring and Results
The MBE is weighted 35%, the Montana essay questions are 25%, the MEE is 25%, and the MPT is 15%. The written scores are scaled and combined with the MBE score to determine if a passing score of 130 was achieved.

Montana accepts previous MBE scores of at least 130 from within three years.

Montana does not provide for admission on motion; examination is required of all applicants.
