New Mexico Bar Exam Format
The New Mexico Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 consists of six New Mexico essay questions and two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

MPRE
A scaled score of 75 on the MPRE is required for admission.
New Mexico Bar Exam Scoring and Results
The MBE is weighted 50%, the written score is weighted 50%, and the scores are scaled, combined, and averaged to determine if a passing score of 130 was achieved. Results are released in late April for the February exam and in late September for the July exam.

New Mexico Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity
New Mexico accepts an MBE score from another jurisdiction, if taken in a concurrent exam and if the administering jurisdiction agrees to forward the MBE score to New Mexico upon receipt from ACT so that the New Mexico results are not delayed.

New Mexico does not provide for admission on motion; examination is required of all applicants.
