Utah Bar Exam Format
The Utah Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 has two sessions each, consisting of one 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) question and four 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) and/or Utah essay questions. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

Administrative Law, Agency, Civil Procedure, Conflict of Laws, Corporations, Creditor/Debtor Rights, Estate Planning (including tax aspects), Ethics, Family Law, Partnerships, U.C.C. (Articles 2, 3 & 9), Wills, Trusts & Future Interests, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts
MPRE
A scaled score of 86 on the MPRE, prior to or within two years after the bar exam, is required for admission.
Utah Bar Exam Scoring and Results
The MBE and written scores are combined to determine if a passing score of 270 was achieved. Results are released two months after the bar exam.

Utah Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity
Utah accepts MBE scores from other jurisdictions, if from a concurrent bar exam.
Utah Bar Exam Reciprocity
Utah may admit applicants from other jurisdictions, under conditions substantially similar to those procedures in reciprocal states. An applicant who has engaged in the active practice of law for four of the five years immediately preceding application is not required to take the MBE.
