Washington Bar Exam Format
The Washington Bar Exam is a three-day exam. Day 1 and 2 consist of nine Washington essay questions. Day 3 consists of six short essay questions on the Washington Rules of Professional Conduct.
Multistate Edge is not applicable to the Washington Bar Exam.

Washington Bar Exam Scoring and Results
An applicant must receive a total of 126 on the substantive portion and at least 42 on the professional responsibility portion to pass the bar exam. An applicant may retake a failed section, but both portions must be passed within a 25-month period. Results are released in early May for the February exam and in early October for the July exam.

Washington Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity
Not applicable; the MBE is not required for admission.
Washington Bar Exam Reciprocity
Washington may admit applicants from other jurisdictions under conditions substantially similar to those procedures in reciprocal states. See Rule 18. Reciprocal states include AL, AK, AZ, AR, CO, CT, DC, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, MA, ME, MN, MS, MO, NE, NH, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WV, WI, and WY. Most jurisdictions require a number of years of practice for admission on motion.
