West Virginia Bar Exam Format
The West Virginia Bar Exam is a two-day exam. Day 1 consists of two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions and six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

MPRE
A scaled score of 75 on the MPRE within 25 months of passing the bar exam is required for admission.
West Virginia Bar Exam Scoring and Results
The total MPT/MEE score is scaled and combined with the MBE scaled score to determine if a passing score of 270 was achieved. Results are released approximately six weeks after the bar exam.

West Virginia Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity
West Virginia accepts MBE scores from other jurisdictions, provided the applicant was successful on the exam and the exam was taken within 13 months of the present exam.
West Virginia Bar Exam Reciprocity
In order to be eligible for admission without taking the West Virginia Bar Exam, an applicant must hail from a jurisdiction with substantially-equivalent admission standards, have engaged in the active practice of law for five of the seven years immediately preceding application, have passed the MPRE, and have graduated from an ABA-accredited law school.
